SPATCO™ DEF Announces Agreement with Daimler Trucks

Charlotte, NC – September 23, 2009 -- SPATCO™ DEF announced today a strategic partnership with Daimler Trucks North America to manufacture and distribute patent-pending Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Dispensing Systems to over 800 Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) dealers throughout the United States and Canada. 

SPATCO™’s DEF Dispensing Systems will provide DTNA customers with the equipment to dispense DEF into their diesel vehicles and enable them to meet the EPA’s deadline for reduced NOx emissions.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated that all Class 1 – Class 8 diesel vehicles manufactured after January 1, 2010 must be equipped with technology to substantially reduce NOx emissions.

By injecting DEF, a non-toxic mixture of 67.5% water and 32.5% urea, into the exhaust of vehicles using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, harmful NOx emissions are reduced to almost zero.  In addition to reduced emissions, this technology has also been proven to increase fuel economy by between 5-9 percent.
