SPATCO^® DEF Releases Portable Bulk DEF Transfer System with Weights and Measure Certification

Charlotte, NC - September 29, 2010 - SPATCO^®'s new Bulk DEF Transfer System offers easy and economical fluid dispensing and transfer for regional DEF distributors. The compact skid is designed to sit in an existing box truck or on a small trailer, and can also be customized to fit specific needs.

The bulk DEF Transfer System is equipped with the following standard features:

Portable, with a compact footprint
Gas or Diesel engine operation
Weights and Measure certification
Mechanical or Digital readout
Manual resettable totalizer
5 micron filter
50' heavy duty chemical hose

Old Dominion Purchases DEF Dispensing Trolleys

Charlotte, NC – June 9, 2010 – Old Dominion Truck Leasing has purchased custom designed and built SPATCO™ DEF Dispensing Trolleys to fill their SCR-equipped trucks that are scheduled for delivery in June.

The drum trolley system features a closed transfer of DEF from a 330 gallon IBC to a 55 gallon drum mounted on a rolling trolley cart. The drum will be filled from a tote inside the Old Dominion maintenance garage and then rolled to the fueling island for truck fill, as needed.

“When evaluating our equipment options, we looked at SPATCO™ DEF Dispensing Systems. They knew exactly what we needed and immediately offered to design and build a system to accommodate our specific needs. The trolley system is a perfect solution and we are pleased with the quality craftsmanship and great customer service we have received,” Wayne Tyree, vice president of operations, Old Dominion Truck Leasing.

The equipment will initially be used at Old Dominion locations in Virginia and Indiana. However, the portability of the trolleys will give Old Dominion the flexibility to move them to new or lower volume facilities, as required.

Pilot to Install SPATCO™ DEF Equipment at Additional Locations

Charlotte, NC - May 7, 2010 -- Pilot Travel Centers, LLC has purchased an additional 24 DEF Dispensing Systems from manufacturer SPATCO^{^TM} DEF Corporation. The additional locations are scheduled for installation by early Q4 2010, which will give Pilot a total of 74 locations with DEF available for bulk retail dispensing.

Pilot Travel Centers, the largest interstate travel center operation in the nation, is known for being a pioneer and leader in the trucking industry. They were the first truck stop in the United States to provide DEF from a retail dispenser.

"We decided to purchase the additional systems from SPATCO based on the quality of their equipment, their ability to meet our delivery schedule, and the ease of use we have experienced with their product", Catherine Adkins, senior project manager, Pilot Travel Centers.

Secondary Containment for Tote Storage Enclosure System

Charlotte, NC – January 22, 2010 – SPATCO™ DEF has added an industry first secondary containment feature to their Tote Storage Enclosure System. Secondary containment is required for the storage of all regulated hazardous materials. While Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is not considered a hazardous liquid by the EPA, this containment option will be a benefit to those customers concerned with ground and water contamination.

SPATCO™ DEF Announces Agreement with Daimler Trucks

Charlotte, NC – September 23, 2009 -- SPATCO™ DEF announced today a strategic partnership with Daimler Trucks North America to manufacture and distribute patent-pending Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Dispensing Systems to over 800 Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) dealers throughout the United States and Canada.

SPATCO™’s DEF Dispensing Systems will provide DTNA customers with the equipment to dispense DEF into their diesel vehicles and enable them to meet the EPA’s deadline for reduced NOx emissions.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated that all Class 1 – Class 8 diesel vehicles manufactured after January 1, 2010 must be equipped with technology to substantially reduce NOx emissions.

By injecting DEF, a non-toxic mixture of 67.5% water and 32.5% urea, into the exhaust of vehicles using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, harmful NOx emissions are reduced to almost zero. In addition to reduced emissions, this technology has also been proven to increase fuel economy by between 5-9 percent.
